The best in the u-p.

This is Munising Falls...one of my favorite places to be. The park service has built a board walk up the canyon to the falls with an observation deck at the end. (I noticed an old trail up behind the falls and took that.) I always wanted to bathe in a waterfalls and this was the perfect time. No one around and ninety degrees! Great experience. I think when I die I would like to be a falls like this one. Always falling, always dancing on the rocks ,always a pleasing sight.

The falls

Munising falls . I don't know why the sound is bad. It should be the sound of the water hitting the rocks. Oh well at least the video came out okay.

Going for a Bike ride.

Monroe and the State have made a bike path that connects from the airport(Munson Park) all the way into the State Park. For once something was done right! It is a wonderful trail thru the city into the park.
This is where you enter off of Elm Ave. near the Clam Digger bar and start into the park. This is where we started so Macy and her training wheels didn't have to deal with stop and go in the city streets.

The trail is smooth and clean.

Mostly shaded along the way.

All of the trail follows the waterways in the park. Notice the cottonwood seeds along the sides. Macy had to stop now and then to blow a hand full in the wind.

Half way into the park there is a tower to climb to see the view of the wetlands.

It was pretty high.

Gin had packed us a lunch of PB&G and pink lemon aid. She thought this to be the greatest picnic ever...(in her many years of picnics :)

This sums it up. Another good day with grandpa. It just doesn't get any better. :) Someday Ben can join us if my leg hold out that long!

This is when we started. Mostly reeds and trees along the way.

We just rode and rode and sung our songs.

Ginny's Artichoke party

Once a year ,sometimes twice we make stuffed artichokes. This year Gin gave a gift to Brian of "one artichoke dinner " for his birthday and we finally paid it off. We had the kid over too to enjoy the fun. Most of the young ones had hot dog though.

We filled the house.

We (okay ,Ginny) had to use roasters because the chokes this year were HUGE! What is with them this year? Cheap too..a dollar a piece. Not bad.

Here is a close up of how she stuffs them with a hamburger mix of bread crumbs, eggs, salt and pepper. They are good once a year for me and it is something to look forward too. I often wonder if anyone else eats them this way?

Painting pots and Rhubarb pie

Now there is one thing that Ginny makes better than all of the others, it's pie making. Apple, cherry, peach all are great. But this time of the year I love her rhubarb pie,I mean just look at the thing! This one was still warm when I got started and it was great. Thanks Gin.

Gin had Macy painting pots again and she is getting pretty good at it. I love watching . I wish she could stay this age . Where is Neverland anyway?

This is part of the first picking of greens from the raised beds. Mixed mustard/spinach,turnips and some kale. Pretty good.

Macy likes to watch me make bread and we don't mind her on the table . I think she thinks she is getting away with something...something she might not be able to do at home..only at the grandparents . Notice in the background ...Artichokes.

Painting.
