Church project. Getting ready to tile

Laying out the floor to start laying tile at the church addition. This is Ron and Mark.
We ran a chalk line and then sprayed a clear coat over the lines to
keep them intact.

First good sledding snow

Today was the first good snow day for sledding so the neighbor kids came over to beg me to take them out behind the fourwheeler. How could I resist!
Of course they were hungry so we heated up some chicken noodle soup first. Paige said that she didn't like chicken noodle soup so she only had seconds once.

Christian was the only one who had a hot dog in their soup . The others thought that that was not the proper way to eat them. Well we enjoyed them in our soup anyway. The kids loved the soup but what I didn't tell them was it was egg drop soup. I always add a few eggs to the chicken noodle soup to give it a little more body. They will never know.....

After some we rigged up the sleds we were off!

Hunter chasing the sled after a fall

All I could hear was...FASTER, FASTER!

Whenever we stopped the rule was that everyone had to switch sleds. Seemed to work well.

Christian and Paige. Gotta hand it to Paige, She never complained a bit. As a matter of fact they all got along well. No one wanted to quit so when my thumb got stiff we called it a day until the next real snow.

A night out with Mark and Bernie

We had a great night out with our friends Mark and Bernie. Frist a great steak dinner at the Texas Roadhouse which is one of my personal favorites for steak . Then Mark took us out along the river raisin to his hide-a-way that he calls "The Frog Inn". He built a fire turned out the lights and we watched the river flow by. Nice night as the snow fell we enjoyed the fire and each other just talking.

Frog Inn setting.
Inside waiting for the fire to warm us up.

It even has a loft that Mark shares with his grandson Alex. They spend the night there from time to time.
Admiring his work

Mark shutting down for the night.

Dinner at Bolles Harbor Cafe

We went out to eat with Matt ,Michelle and Michell's mom Terri. She is visiting from New York (state) . It was good to see her again and we had a good time . I don't like to eat out much because it is so hard to find good food! We went to the Bolles Harbor Cafe and it was great! Try it sometimes.

The daughter in law beaming .....because shes out with her family. Isn't she something? Always a joy to be with.

Hunting in the snow opening weekend.

Gun season opened Saturday and it poured rain all day. Cold rain soaked us thru and thru right down to my underwear! I froze! It would have been worth it if the bucks would have cooperated but they stayed out of sight. The next day it snowed . A lot! Matt hunted in the morning and I joined him after lunch. More snow falling sometimes very heavy. I saw three does but my scope was so foggy inside that I couldn't see thru it. I let them pass.
The trip back across the lake was something with the snow falling so thick that it was hard to see shore. Great fun, really it was great.

The water was higher because of all of the rain.
The snow was really coming down.

All loaded and ready to put the canoe on top and call it a night.
One of these days Ginny will get her car back!

Girl Scouts visit our Tipi

Our friend is a girl scout leader and took avantage of my tipi to hold her meeting. Ginny made cupcakes for them and we had hot cider too. They had a ball! I don't who liked it more, the mothers or the scouts. A new record was set with twenty-two people in the tipi at once. Here are some of the photos.

This was inside after the meeting. All smiles.

Fun was had by one and all.
