Snow in the Morning

I like a sunny snow covered morning and this winter we have a lot. So I took the camera out for a morning walk.

This is my teepee . It looks cozy covered in snow, but I can't talk Gin into spending a night there. What's with that! It's got a stove ,cots and carpeting...what more could she want?

Taking a photo into the sun can be tricky but it makes for a nice scene
The tipi is doing well this winter. I was going to take it down if we had a December thaw but that never happened.

Puffed up Jay waiting it turn for the feeder.
Enjoy winter.

The New Years Eve Get Together

On New Years Eve we got together with friends to have our eating ,playing games and having fun night. We always eat to much and stay too long and have too much fun. This year was no exception. We pay for it the next day though! We drag around for the rest of the week . Getting old is the pits. But we do have fun. Gene and Barb are always good hosts.

You got to see this video....The girls wore these flashing earings all night long! It was hard to play a game with these strobe lights going off and on,off and on! Oh, I bet that is why the guys did so poorly. It was a plan all along.

Ginny's Mom Bowling on Her 94th Birthday

Ginny's mom bowls regularly in a seniors league and at 94 she bowls pretty darn well..better than some half of her age. She is the hit of the league and is loved by one and all. Since she turned 90 we take a cake to the alley for all to share.

She has been trying to break the 200 mark for years and could never do it......until TODAY! This is after one of her four strikes in a row. She was a happy camper for sure. She ended this game with a 205. A life time high. Her series was 511!

Mom talking to Earl. Everyone had to come down to her alley to see for themselves and wish her well.

Can you tell by her body language that this one was not a strike!

Firewood....with Free Delivery!

The neighbors ash tree fell on the garage a couple of Sundays ago. We had 60 mph winds that blew over to my side. I needed some firewood but not on the roof. Another view . These two big limbs did most of the damage. Thing is there is still one more up there. Hoping that the adjuster will pay to get it down.
The glazing on the greenhouse really got messed up. Looks like it all will need to be replaced.

This is where one of the limbs came thru the roof.

Making firewood. At least it will keep us warm for a while. I split most of it and started burning. Ash is the one wood that can be burned green anyway..although this one was dead and mostly dry. Now I have to wait on the adjuster to come.

Christmas is always a busy time and it is great to have all of the kids and family home.
This is Sarah and Michelle....The Daughter-in-Laws. The reason why my hair is finally getting some grey in it. Love them both.

Ginny getting her Macy time. There is something special about having Christmas with small kids that makes it more enjoyable.

Church project. Getting ready to tile

Laying out the floor to start laying tile at the church addition. This is Ron and Mark.
We ran a chalk line and then sprayed a clear coat over the lines to
keep them intact.

First good sledding snow

Today was the first good snow day for sledding so the neighbor kids came over to beg me to take them out behind the fourwheeler. How could I resist!
Of course they were hungry so we heated up some chicken noodle soup first. Paige said that she didn't like chicken noodle soup so she only had seconds once.

Christian was the only one who had a hot dog in their soup . The others thought that that was not the proper way to eat them. Well we enjoyed them in our soup anyway. The kids loved the soup but what I didn't tell them was it was egg drop soup. I always add a few eggs to the chicken noodle soup to give it a little more body. They will never know.....

After some we rigged up the sleds we were off!

Hunter chasing the sled after a fall

All I could hear was...FASTER, FASTER!

Whenever we stopped the rule was that everyone had to switch sleds. Seemed to work well.

Christian and Paige. Gotta hand it to Paige, She never complained a bit. As a matter of fact they all got along well. No one wanted to quit so when my thumb got stiff we called it a day until the next real snow.
